Michael Phleps does the same thing before each race. Some call it the “condor.” He does it three times.

The reason why Phelps does this is because it warms him up, but also because it helps him stay focused. He does it consistently, so he can perform consistently.

If we have good rhythm and timing, we perform at a high level, but if we change things up, we become inconsistent. Anyone can perform well once, but the great ones do it consistently. It gives them the confidence to win.
